Hi, I’m Melanie

For more than twenty years, I've had the privilege of sitting with people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Every one of those stories has shaped not only the therapist I am, but the person I continue to become.

Over the years, I’ve learned that healing isn’t simply about understanding what happened to us. It’s about understanding how those experiences continue to shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

More importantly, I’ve learned that healing is possible. We can’t change the past, but we can create new experiences that help us move forward.

That's the kind of space I want every person to experience when they walk through my door.

A space where you don't have to perform.

A space where you don't have to have it all figured out.

A space where healing can begin.

Based in Fort Smith, Arkansas

Serving clients nationwide through online sessions and in-person intensives.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I don’t fix people. I help them remember who they are.

I don't believe people are broken.

I believe trauma teaches us how to survive. Over time, those survival strategies can become so familiar that they begin to feel like our identity. We adapt, protect, perform, people-please, or disconnect because, at one point, those strategies helped us make it through.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about creating enough safety to reconnect with the person you've always been beneath survival.

My work blends trauma therapy, nervous system healing, expressive arts, hypnotherapy, and experiential approaches to help people move beyond insight and into lasting change. Together, we don't just talk about healing. We create experiences that allow your mind, body, and emotions to begin living differently.

I believe real transformation happens when understanding becomes embodied. When insight becomes action. When safety becomes something you don't just think about, but something you finally feel.

Because healing isn't about fixing who you are.

It's about remembering that you've been worthy all along.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Hypnotherapist, and EMDR-trained trauma specialist with over a decade of experience in trauma recovery and emotional health.

WHAT I LOVE MOST IS WATCHING PEOPLE REMEMBER THEMSELVES.

THE HEART OF MY WORK

Two ballpoint pens, one with a rose gold finish and the other with a chrome finish, stand upright on a pastel floral background.

I love seeing light return to someone’s eyes when they begin to trust their own goodness again.
I love the quiet moments when a person takes a deep breath and finally feels safe inside their own body.

What I love most is helping people find what was always there: their truth, their light, their peace.

That is why I do this work.

That moment when someone realizes they are not broken only hidden is everything to me.

TRUTHS I LIVE BY

Truth means we face what is real, even when it is hard.

Compassion means we meet ourselves and others with tenderness instead of shame.

Creativity means healing can be expressive, colorful, and alive.

Integrity means I will always lead with honesty and transparency.

Embodiment means this work must be lived, not just understood.

MY BOOK

Before this space existed, there was a whisper that said, you are not made to be against yourself.

That whisper became my book, You Are For True — a written reflection of what it means to stop surviving and start remembering who you are.

It’s for the tender-hearted, the tired, and the ones trying to come home to themselves.

A FEW HUMAN THINGS

Outside of the therapy room, you'll usually find me with coffee in hand, a notebook nearby, and a trail calling my name. I love slow mornings, good books, creating things with my hands, and conversations that are honest enough to change us.

I believe healing doesn't always happen through words. Sometimes it happens through movement, creativity, laughter, quiet, and finally feeling safe enough to exhale.

I believe insight changes your mind. Safety changes your life.

And if there's one thing I hope every person leaves with after working with me, it's this:

You are not broken.

You may have learned to survive in ways that no longer serve you. But healing isn't about fixing what's wrong with you.

It's about remembering what has always been true about you.

IF SOMETHING INSIDE YOU KNOWS THERE’S MORE TO LIFE THAN SURVIVAL. YOU BELONG HERE.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. You only need to be willing to meet yourself where you are.
